- Plaid Cymru member since 1987; General Election candidate in Swansea West in 1992 and 1997;
- Lay preacher since 1992, and Deacon since 1994;
- Chairperson, Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin West Glamorgan 1993-1995 (vice-Chair MYM 1991-1993);
- Honorary vice-President Alzheimer’s Disease Society in Swansea and Lliw Valley.
